eTaleem: Gains & losses? Mr. Baig:
Gain- I don't call it a gain. I have not accomplished
much, there is more way to go.
Loss- Less time to look after my mother, although
I try my level best. And less time for my kids,
which they often complain about. For any gain theirs
a cost and these are the costs for what I have achieved.
eTaleem: Economy effecting your business? Mr. Baig: Today, after Sep.11, there
was a global recession, everybody suffered. Pakistan
is lucky, it had a loss of 2% where as economy loss
of Indonesia & Malaysia was as high as 11 - 13%.
Pakistan lost billion of dollars in exports, making
less revenue because of less business activity.
The European Union has removed customs duty on Pakistani
meter products and enhanced the quota. The recent
blast in Karachi, Sheraton has affected business
but people are still moving and work goes on.
eTaleem:Future of the business? Mr. Baig: 2004 will remove quotas
and it will be a buyers market where anyone can
buy from anywhere. They will be getting good price
and quality.
eTaleem:How do you think that IT has
effected your business? Mr. Baig: IT has major role in business.
People are becoming aware of IT. Banks are online,
and auctions are taking place where you can buy
and sell.
