eTaleem:
Tell
us about your family? Mr. Baig: Well! We're 2 brothers &
6 sisters. We're into TV Production. One of my sisters
'Afreen Baig' is very creative, she's into production.
She produced Chandni Raatein which was a big smash
& Kabhi Kabhi Pyar mai which received the Lux award.
Baig production is financing many serials. Ishtiak
Baig married Nazia Hassan, who died, has a child.
My wife Noreen and I have 3 kids, Umar '18', 2 daughters
'14 & 7', Anam and Haya.
eTaleem: You're family's contribution
in your success? Mr. Baig: Family support is a lot.
I want to give tribute to my mother behind my success.
Then, of course, to my wife when I stayed six months
abroad without her and my children. After waiting
6 months, which was a long time, but today we are
thankful to the All Mighty for keeping us together
in our business dynasty.
eTaleem:Unforgettable experiences in
your life? Mr. Baig: I still remember traveling
with Former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Benazir
Bhutto, when she was traveling to Morocco. She used
to take night flights. She had called me and said
that our official tour to Morocco will be vital.
She requested me to develop a plan for how best
Pakistan could best reach out to the Moroccan people.
I worked the whole night and finished the project.
That project was so successful and she took suggestions
from me during the whole tour.
eTaleem:Your best friends in school days? Mr. Baig: I was a student of DJ Science
College Karachi. My best friend is Mr.Jehangir Shah
who was the son of then President of Muslim Commercial
bank. We have one thing in common, that we want
our own identification instead of through some other
reference. We both wanted to achieve in our own
capacity. I still remember we used to go to hawks
bay beach for the future planing. One day, we went
there and walked on the beach, a Blue Bottle bit
both of us and we fell ill.
eTaleem:Dreams come true? Mr. Baig: It's my desire to be on
the Front page of Fortune Magazine.
eTaleem: What are your reflections now
looking back? Mr. Baig: I feel success is very easy
to achieve but difficult to maintain. It very easy
to become leader in any field, but is very difficult
to remain a leader.
